Art Exhibit by Virginia Stewart
I want to frame several original drawings for exhibition and sale in the Phoenixville Community. An exhibition is currently under consideration for Franklin Commons. Other venues include the Phoenix Village Arts Center, Steel City Coffeehouse, Artisans Café and The Lighthouse Lounge. With proceeds from the sale of any of these drawings I would like to create a further body of work to help support both myself and Sphere College.
I will have my original drawings professionally matted and framed by Gould Framing.
This is the first time I will be exhibiting a significant body of original pieces as I move to the next stage of my professional life. This project represents an important commitment to my artwork. This will also bring my work to the attention of the community.
It will take about two weeks to have the works matted and framed. They will then be submitted for consideration to Franklin Commons, after which it will take some additional time to display. When they are no longer on display in Franklin Commons, they will be submitted to other venues in Phoenixville. I will return and report at one of the future dinners as the works are on display or sold.
I am a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts who moved to Phoenixville in 2008. I became involved with Sphere College, which has been very transforming for me and has given me the encouragement to develop myself as an artist. Putting my artwork out into the world is part of my journey of self-discovery. I want to show the truth of my journey in the hopes that other people can see the truth of their journey and to see that our journeys are shared as part of the human experience.
