About CarbonSoup #2

CarbonSoup is part of the Sunday Soup network (www.sundaysoup.org)

Dinner:  A hearty soup (with bread), at an affordable price (a sliding scale of $5 to $10).

Decision:  Everyone gets a ballot, and after the selected proposals are presented the project with the most votes wins all the money generated. The proposal with the second most votes is invited to present at a future CarbonSoup event, where we will also receive updates from past winners.

Purpose:  All who attend make up the CarbonSoup collaborative. While raising money to finance in-demand projects, we will also be solidifying a network of support and community that reaches beyond monetary assistance. It's an open platform to share and discuss ongoing projects with new audiences, meet new collaborators, and share valuable resources.

Present:  Presentations from 3-5 potential grantees.

Apply:  Applying for an opportunity to present a project at an upcoming CarbonSoup is intentionally simple and un-bureaucratic in order to encourage broad participation (apply at www.CarbonSoup.org). This enables us to stimulate and promote experimental, critical and imaginative practices that may not be eligible for formal funding.

Proposal Questions:

1) Describe Your Project (100 words)

2) How will you use the CarbonSoup grant money? (Generally state what the funds will be used for: honorarium, materials, studio rent, publicity, etc.)

3) Why is this project important? (Why does this project matter, either to you or to "the community?")

4) How will your project manifest at one of our upcoming events? (What is the time frame for your project, and how could you share about its progress/completion at an upcoming event?)

5) Also, tell us a little about yourself. (A little about yourself or your group and what led you to (your current creative goals. This may include a previous project of yours, ways it both succeeded and failed this can be entirely unrelated to your proposal... approx. 100 words.)
